What one tube actually does

Four things off the shelf, one thing on it.

Cleanser, exfoliant, toner and brightener in the same forty seconds. The routine stops being a list of chores — which is the only reason it survives the week you are tired.
Glycolic and mandelic lift the dull layer sitting on top. Light bounces off flat skin and scatters on rough skin — that is the whole difference between looking tired and looking rested.
Salicylic is oil-soluble, so it gets inside the pore rather than sitting on the surface. That is the part a face wash alone never reaches.
A probiotic ferment buffers the acids so they resurface without stripping. Most acid products are a once-a-week event you have to recover from. This one is not.

Forty seconds, morning and night.

1Wet your face with warm water — damp skin, not dripping.
2A pea-sized amount. More is not faster, it is just more.
3Forty seconds of slow circles. That is the contact time the acids need.
4Rinse warm, pat dry, moisturiser on top. SPF in the morning, always.

Your first week: every other night while your skin gets used to the acids. After that, twice a day. If you already use a retinoid, alternate nights until you know how your skin takes it.

What is normal with acids, and what is not.

✓A short tingle. A few seconds while it is on the skin, gone when you rinse. That is the mandelic and the glycolic making contact.
✓Some flaking around week one. The layer that was already on its way out, leaving on schedule instead of sitting there.
✓A few spots surfacing early on. Salicylic clears the pore from the inside, so what was already forming comes up sooner. It usually settles inside one skin cycle, about four weeks.
✓Skin that feels softer before it looks different. Texture moves first. Tone takes a cycle or two.
!Burning, stinging that does not stop, tight or shiny-red skin. That is too much, too fast — not a purge. Drop to every other night, keep the moisturiser going, and give it a week.
!Skipping SPF. Acids leave fresh skin on top. Sunscreen in the morning is not optional with this one.
